Business Casual Must Die

Dress Excited!

There are so many women out there conforming to a business style that they don't love. You creatives out there, let's show how beautiful we really are. We don't need a sweater blouse set with dress pants to be heard. We need style and we need to look smart. This is not business casual, in fact, your career, your success should be anything but casual - but that's just me. You want to express yourself in your work, your accomplishments why not celebrate it in your personal style, too?

My email address is
je.pitt@gmail.com and this is really why I created this blog. I want to hear from you so I can do everything in my power to make the business world a bit more of our own. I want you to tell me everything that you're not 100% happy with in your work environment. I'm talking about things that seem to be re-appearing in different jobs & industries that we've just become accustomed to accept. It is a challenge to break, but I am trying to break it myself and I'd love for you to try, too.

This past weekend I was in Toronto from dawn to dusk. It overwhelmed me the amount of drab greys and blacks that people decided to present themselves in. at 845am everyone in the subway station, blended together like a piece of crinkled up gray-scale newspaper. They all looked like a perfectly formatted Word template. No individuality and certainly no apparent excitement about life. Is this really the look that people, and in particular, creatives want to express? I doubt it. I'm sure people default to drab style when they are too tired to put effort into dressing themselves, but come on... default never looks good.
